Santa Fe, NM – On Wednesday, the New Mexico Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (DHSEM) announced that Ali Rye has been hired as the department’s new Response and Recovery Bureau Chief. Ms. Rye comes to DHSEM from San Juan County, where she has served as Emergency Coordinator since 2017. Before that, she served as a Public Assistance Officer in the Arkansas Department of Emergency Management from 2013 to 2017.
“I am delighted to welcome Ali Rye to the DHSEM team,” said Deputy Secretary Kelly Hamilton. “Our Response and Recovery Bureau works so hard to help New Mexicans before, during, and after emergency events. It’s a tremendous responsibility, and with her experience working as a local emergency manager in San Juan County, I am confident that Ali has the right background and skillset to lead this incredible bureau.”
“I couldn’t be more excited to start this new journey with DHSEM,” said Rye. “I look forward to hitting the ground running and applying my experiences from both San Juan County and the State of Arkansas.”
