Emergency Management Coordinator Tribal Liaison (DHSEM #74690)
Identifying ways to serve our Tribal partners in a more consistent and culturally appropriate fashion that is effective is what this job does in a number of ways. On a consistent basis, this position reviews, evaluates and influences our customer product to be appropriate and applicable to our Tribal partners. This position ensures that there is no cultural divide between the agency and our Tribal partners. When one is identified, this positions mitigates that and provides guidance to the Cabinet Secretary and the Department.
Salary
$29.23 – $43.85 Hourly
$60,800 – $91,200 Annually

Mitigation Coordinator (DHSEM #10108072)
Conduct outreach activities to local entities with roles or interest in hazard mitigation associated with natural hazards and non- human caused disaster events. Position will assist with coordination of the state’s natural-hazard mitigation program; earthquake program; and floodplain management program. Position requires intermediate to advanced proficiency with MS-Office suite and the ability to create and manage spreadsheets, databases, and forms. Knowledge, skills, and ability in the fields of grant and sub grant management; environmental science, engineering, hydrology, or construction are preferred. Position will facilitate affected jurisdictions in identifying and developing technical federal applications for Hazard Mitigation Plans, public outreach and education on natural hazards, and structural mitigation projects – such as flood proofing structures, earthquake building retrofits and elevation offload prone structures, soil stabilization, storm water management, and structural flood control projects.

Recovery Coordinator (DHSEM #10110940)
The position serves as a Recovery Officer for the Recovery Unit within the Response and Recovery Bureau. The primary focus and responsibilities are to provide assistance in the administration of disaster recovery grant programs for statewide disasters and emergencies. The incumbent will coordinate and co-administer disaster recovery grant programs, ensuring that they are implemented and carried out according to state and federal program requirements. The programs to be assigned are: 1) State Disaster Assistance Program; 2) FEMA Public Assistance Program; and 3) FEMA Fire Management Assistance Program. Additional recovery programs may be added based on state or federal program requirements. The incumbent must develop and demonstrate competency with state and federal fiscal management practices, prepare disaster budgets, and track grant payments and other financial transactions, review project specifications, conduct project inspections and public presentations.

Sub Grant Analyst (DHSEM #67274+)
This position exists to perform activities in support of the grant administration duties associated with the federal disaster and non-disaster grant programs awarded to NMDHSEM by the United States Department of Homeland Security (USDHS)/Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOD and for the New Mexico State Disaster Assistance Program (DAP). Grant administration duties include analysis of submitted grant reports; requests for grant amendments and extensions; and auditing of requests for reimbursements to ensure compliance with grant requirements.
